Scott HubertyScott Huberty is currently serving as President Elect for our chapter and is scheduled to assume the position of Chapter President on July 1, 2009. Scott has already served two terms as Chapter Treasurer and one term as Vice President. He has also worked as PDC Coordinator for 2008 and 2009. Scott’s “day job” is Loss Control Supervisor with Meadowbrook Insurance Group’s Minnesota Office. Meadowbrook serves as a third party administrator for a number of workers compensation self-insurance groups (SIGs). Scott is responsible for development and implementation of loss control and risk management services for the members of their SIGs. He is also a frequent speaker for trade associations, safety conferences, and professional groups. Prior to joining Meadowbrook in 2003, Scott provided similar services as a Loss Control Consultant for an independent insurance agency and with a major insurance carrier. He has worked in this profession since 1989. |

Kris JohnsonKris Johnson currently serves as Vice President of our local chapter. He will become President Elect of the Northwest Chapter as part of the planned leadership rotation. Kris has also served as the Assistant Regional Vice President for Professional Development for the National ASSE since 2007. Additionally, Kris is an HES Professional for Marathon Petroleum in St. Paul Park. Kris has earned a Masters Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety from the University of Minnesota-Duluth as well as a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. |

Jeff Jarvela, CSP, OHSTJeff Jarvela, CSP, OHST is an active member of the ASSE having served as a PDC Committee Member for the past two years. He earned his B.A.S. in Industrial Technologies (1996) and Masters Degree in Industrial Safety (1997) from the University of Minnesota - Duluth, and has over 11 years as a Safety Professional. Jeff is the Corporate Safety Specialist for Imation Corp. in Oakdale, MN, with direct responsibility for the World Headquarters and R&D facility and indirect responsibility for the manufacturing and warehousing facilities. Prior to his 8 years at Imation, Jeff worked for 3 years at Lockheed Martin Systems Integration in Owego, NY. Along with the ASSE, Jeff is also a member of the National Safety Council, American Industrial Hygiene Association, and National Fire Protection Association. In his efforts to expand safety education outside the workplace, Jeff also volunteers as an instructor for the Lino Lakes, MN Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). |

Megan Rooney, CSPMegan Rooney, CSP is the EH&S Division Manager at IEA, Inc. She has nine years of experience in the environmental, health, and safety industry and has been the ASSE – Northwest Chapter’s Treasurer for the past year. She has enjoyed her role as treasurer and in assisting with the development of the annual Professional Development Conference. Megan began in the safety field by conducting hazardous waste inspections for Dakota County. Now, as a consultant, she works with clients in their efforts to address OSHA compliance and public health issues, as well as many other areas including indoor air quality, facilities management, and even playground safety. Megan earned a Bachelor’s degree from The College of St. Benedict and holds a Qualified Project Manager certificate from the University of St. Thomas. |

Paul BeckPaul Beck currently works as a Risk Consultant at RJF Agencies, a privately-held risk management and insurance firm. There he works with clients to help reduce their overall business risk, focusing on safety and loss prevention. Paul has been involved with ASSE since 2005, serving as a Professional Member for almost 3 years and one year as a student member. He earned his Master of Environmental Health and Safety degree from the University of Minnesota - Duluth. UMD is also where he received his Bachelors degree in Information Systems and Technology. |

Mr. Flegel holds a B.S. in Occupational Safety & Environmental Health from the University of North Dakota, Certified Safety Professional(CSP), National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B). Mr. Flegel has been an active member with ASSE since 1999 and has served on the NW Chapter Board as "Member at Large" for the the 2007-2009 term. Carol KeyesCarol Keyes is one of the owners of CHESS, Inc. She has been working in the safety field for over 15 years, after having worked in the workers’ compensation arena for ten years. Carol is a member of ASSE and has served as Secretary of the Northwest Chapter and as editor of the ASSE Consultants’ Practice Specialty publication. She specializes in working with smaller businesses, municipalities, manufacturers and the automotive industry. Carol will bring her organizational skills and management expertise, honed by almost twenty years of running her own business. |

Dawn Westin, CSP Dawn Westin, CSP, CHMM is an ESH Area Manager for Unisys Corporation with over 18 years of experience seeking to protect employees, the environment and in turn the profits of Unisys so it remains a sustainable organization. Ms. Westin holds a M.S. in Risk Control from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and completed her B.S. in Environmental Studies at the University of St. Thomas in MN. Ms. Westin has been an active member of ASSE since 2001 and has served on the NW Chapter Board as Professional Development Chair, Government Affairs Chair and Member at Large. Ms. Westin also enjoys acting as a liaison to the University of Wisconsin-Stout ASSE Student Chapter. |

Rick Johnson, CSPRick Johnson, CSP is a Certified Safety Professional with over 28 years of experience in the areas of safety management, workers’ compensation, and environmental compliance. His past experience includes the development and administration of safety and environmental programs for a broad range of industrial and governmental organizations. Currently, Mr. Johnson is the Vice President of Product Development and Technical Services for Comprehensive Loss Management, Inc. in Minneapolis where he is responsible for the production of video and print based safety and ergonomic training materials including the Blueprints® for Safety product line. In addition, he manages all web-based training and CLMI’s PerformTRAX software development. Mr. Johnson has served on the ASSE NW Chapter Board as the House of Delegates representative for 4 years and serves as the Editor of the Chapter website. |

Jaclyn SutherlandJaclyn Sutherland has been actively involved with the ASSE Central Florida chapter over the last five years. Her experience includes working for Cleveland Cliff’s Mining, Wausau Insurance, Zenith Insurance, and Skyetec Industrial Hygiene. She recently moved back to the Twin Cities and is currently working for RTW, Inc. a mono-line workers’ compensation carrier. Jackie has earned her Master of Environmental Health and Safety degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2001 where she also received her B.A. in Environmental Studies. She also had the honor to serve as an adjunct Professor for Embry Riddle. |

Kirk Wulf, CSP, ARMKirk Wulf, CSP, ARM, serves as the Safety Director for Wright-Hennepin Electric Cooperative, Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative and Stearns Electric Association. He has 13 years experience in the SH&E field; with 9 in the electric utility industry. Kirk holds an M.S. degree in occupational safety from East Carolina University and a B.S. degree in psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He achieved his CSP in May 2003. Kirk held the position of Member at Large for the Northwest Chapter in the past and is a Professional Member of the ASSE and a member of the ASSE Northwest Chapter. |
